NPM 10.7 Beta 1 now available
It seems like just yesterday (OK, perhaps 30 days) since we released NPM 10.6. Not content to rest on our laurels, it is our pleasure to introduce NPM 10.7 Beta 1.
10.7 Beta 1 is chock full of new and exciting features to check out:
VLAN Polling:
We're now polling VLAN information from Cisco and Juniper devices:
VLAN data is displayed in several new VLAN resources, and we're excited to hear where else you may want to see this data. Please let us know in the comments section below.
Support for EIGRP
Since the introduction of route polling, we've received innumerable requests to expand our support for routing protocols. Beta1 introduces support for EIGRP.
L3 Topology Mapping
L3 connectivity is displayed in the separate topology resource, and in Network Atlas maps
Link Utilization on Network Atlas Maps
Also new in Network Atlas, is the often requested feature to have link color reflect utilization.
Independent Node thresholds and baselining
In the same vein as SAM, Beta1 now has the ability to set independent thresholds for Node details. Also included is the ability to calculate a normalized baseline for each metric. This baseline is recalculated on a sliding 7-day window to reduce noise from false alerts.
NOC Mode
We've also introduced a specialized "NOC mode" in 10.7 Beta1. For those of you that have your NPM console up on a big-screen, you can can now see any existing view in "NOC mode"
In NOC mode the header and footer and compressed, and you can configure the view to rotate between subviews every N number of seconds
Custom Table / Chart resources
Those of you that have used the new web-based reporting may be familiar with the custom chart / custom table resources. Well, in 10.7 beta, we've made those resources available on views. In many cases this could replace the usage of Multiple-Object-Charts (and no, MoC is not going away. )
Web-Based Report Scheduler
Speaking of new web-based reports, 10.7 Beta1 introduces the ability to schedule reports directly in the web console
Drag-and-Drop Resources
Last, but not least, you may have noticed the hashed "grab-bars" now at the top of each resource. That's right- drag-and-drop resources! We've also added dynamic column resizing, and increased the maximum column count to 6.
What else may we be up to? Stay tuned- and take 10.7 Beta1 for a test drive. It's a ton of features for such an early beta, so we're super excited with how this release is shaping up.
Some features are still early, so your feedback is greatly appreciated.
Remember, Beta CAN'T be installed on production and we do not support upgrades between beta versions.
