Search Enhancements

I've seen some old threads on this, but I don't see any solutions.  I search by strings in node fields.  I often have to look at 10 or 15 nodes at a time that are not in any groups.  So I enter a unique part of a string in the Node Search and:

1. I always have to click the "Search" button.  Is there any way to press the "Enter" key?
2. I always have to then select the single node listed in a full-screen window.  If only one device is returned, could you please redirect the browser to the Node Details link for that node?

I realize this sounds minor but when you have to do this 20 or 30 times a day it gets annoying.
