I'd like to see the database maintenance process split up similar to the way netflow maintenance is split out

I'd like to see the database maintenance process split up similar to the way netflow maintenance is split out.  My reasoning for this is that we have a very large database fed by 5 pollers supporting 40k resources.  We also have NCM, NTA, UDT, SAM, and VNQM.  All these modules except NCM feed into the same database.  The database maintenance process as it currently is configured takes hours to complete and puts a huge load on the database server, which in turn makes the Orion Web interface very slow and almost unusable.  I suggest breaking the process into distinct pieces for each module which could be run at different times.  Also there needs to be some additional database repair tools included in the package.  Currently database defragging is not included but can be turned on and off via an sql script found in the Solarwinds Knowledge Base.  Since this script tacs the reindex on at the end of the database maintenance, it further exacerbates the duration of the database maintenance.  In addition this does nothing if the tables indexes need to be reorder or rebuilt.  Currently that process is left to the DBA to write.  I'd like to see this turned into a set of canned scripts that can be kicked off separate from the database maintenance and blessed by Solarwinds.

To give all an example, our database maintenance is taking any where from 9 to 12 hours.  That's unacceptable, especially since most of this is archiving and not really database maintenance.  This is only going to get worse as Solarwinds adds more features
