I have an issue where I am constantly finding volumes that are no longer collecting data. What I find is doing a list resources in Orion will find the volume and show it as unmonitored as though Orion thought it was a different volume than the one already assigned to be monitored on the node. After working with SolarWinds support I was informed that subtle changes on the volume such as a label and/or volume re-index would cause this behavior and Orion would see the volume as a new volume and not assume to monitor it unless you went and configured it as such.
The first thing I feel the need to point out is that this seems like a pretty severe problem!
Also, I have been a SolarWinds user for several years now and when we first purchased the product we were told that the 30 minute re-discovery interval would handle volume re-indexing and re-map the volume as necessary. In support of that we never really had the problem we are having now. This all leads me to believe that this hasn't always been a problem; however, I am willing to accept that I may just be wrong so I am looking for confirmation on if this is a new problem or if it has been a problem all along and I just never really noticed.
Thanks in advance for any and all responses!
