We are rolling out a pool of tablets to use. So we have 20 or 30 devices in the Asset Reservation system. Even though it isn't a lot, it can still be difficult to find what people are looking for. My suggestions include:
- It would be good if the asset type and model fields only appeared for types/models that have reservable assets.
- By default, people can browse through our various asset types, and models but for most categories, nothing is reservable. This would really simplify this.
- There was a checkbox or something that said "Just show me stuff that is available now"
- Some of our assets are reserved for long periods of time. So people have to keep guessing regarding what is available and checking the calendar. If there was a box on the top that just returned assets that are available, or if the printout of results showed what was currently borrowed in red or something, that would help too.
- A search filter to limit assets available during a time range
- Similar to 2 above, people may want to reserve something a few weeks out, and will only want to see what is available for that time period.
